Study guide · Practice exams
Build a timed practice exam from 200 original Security+ (SY0-701) questions. Choose the length, difficulty, and domains, then review explanations and a score report that shows where to study next.
Before you start: These are original practice questions, not CompTIA exam items. CompTIA publishes a passing score of 750 on a scale of 100 to 900, but not the conversion, so the scaled score on this page is unofficial. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing is saved, so print or save your score report before you close the page. For background on each topic, see the core notes and flashcards.
Set up an exam, answer every question, then submit to see your score report.

Each exam is drawn at random from the questions that match your settings. Questions are spread across the domains you select in proportion to the pool, so a 20-question exam mirrors the weight of each domain instead of clustering in one area. Every attempt draws a new set, and answer choices are shuffled unless you turn that option off.
The pool includes multiple-choice, multiple-response, and simple performance-based tasks such as matching a term to its job and putting a process in order. This page is not a hands-on lab simulator.
The 200 questions follow the published SY0-701 domain weights. Security operations, the largest domain, has the most questions.
| Domain | Exam weight | Questions | Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 General Security Concepts | 12% | 24 | 6 / 11 / 7 |
| 2.0 Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Mitigations | 22% | 44 | 11 / 21 / 12 |
| 3.0 Security Architecture | 18% | 36 | 9 / 17 / 10 |
| 4.0 Security Operations | 28% | 56 | 15 / 26 / 15 |
| 5.0 Security Program Management and Oversight | 20% | 40 | 10 / 19 / 11 |
Difficulty levels: Beginner questions check a single fact, such as what a CVE identifies. Intermediate questions apply a concept to a short scenario. Advanced questions combine several facts, ask for the FIRST or BEST action, or are performance-based tasks.
In the score report, domains below 75% are marked as focus areas and ordered by impact: a low score in a heavily weighted domain comes first. Aim for 85% or higher across every domain before you move on.
No. Every question is original and written from the public SY0-701 objectives, version 6.0. NodnWebTools does not use or distribute leaked exam content, sometimes called brain dumps, which violates the CompTIA candidate agreement.
No. CompTIA publishes a passing score of 750 on a scale of 100 to 900, but it does not publish how raw scores convert to that scale. The estimate is a linear guide for comparing your own attempts.
Aim for consistent results around an estimated 750 or higher, and about 85 percent, on mixed-difficulty timed exams that cover every domain. Then review every explanation, including questions you answered correctly.
No. The exam runs entirely in your browser. Answers and results are not stored or sent, so they disappear when you close or reload the page. Print or save the score report if you want to keep it.
